Psilocybin integration therapy in Denver, Colorado

Psilocybin Integration Therapy in Denver

At Numia Healing Center, integration is where the real work happens: two one-hour sessions with the same licensed therapist who prepared you and sat with you on journey day, the first usually the day after, the second about two weeks later, followed by monthly integration circles. Integration is included in every Numia protocol, with no separate fee.

The Key Facts

What integration looks like at Numia in practice, in one place. Every fact here is current as of September 2026.

What it isThe therapy that follows a psilocybin journey: making sense of what surfaced, in the body as much as the mind, and turning it into changes you can live. At Numia it is built into every protocol and included in the price.
SessionsTwo one-hour integration sessions with your therapist. The first is usually the day after your journey, while the experience is still fresh; the second about two weeks later, once daily life has had a chance to test what you learned.
Who leads itThe same licensed therapist (LCSW, LPC, PsyD, LMFT) who held your preparation and your journey day, in Numia’s clinical facilitator therapist model. Continuity is the point: nothing has to be re-explained, and the person helping you make meaning of the day was in the room for it.
Beyond the sessionsMonthly integration circles for Numia clients, long after the protocol ends. Acupuncture with Benjamin Hawes to help the body settle. Art therapy with Johanna Oppeck for meaning-making. Coordination with your own therapist, if you have one.
WhereIn person at Numia Healing Center, 75 S Madison St, Suite 201, in central Denver, or by telehealth once you have traveled home. More about the center.
PriceIncluded in every protocol: $3,800 for private sessions, $6,000 per couple, group retreats from $4,000 per person. Colorado’s rules bar any separate fee for the first integration session; at Numia there is no separate fee for the second either. See full pricing.

Why Integration Is Where the Real Work Happens

Many people arrive at Numia hoping the journey itself will do the work, and it does do something real. For a day, the usual defenses soften, the deeper layers of your emotional world become reachable, and things that have been stored in the body for years can finally move. We have deep respect for that day; it is why people come. At the same time, across more than 200 legal sessions we have watched the same thing happen again and again: the journey opens a door, and integration is how you walk through it.

Insight left alone tends to fade. Insight that is spoken out loud the next morning, written down, felt in the body, and practiced over the following weeks becomes choice. That is what the two integration sessions are for, and why the therapist who leads them is the same person who prepared you and sat beside you on journey day. Carolina writes about the ten-second breath and phrase we teach in preparation and carry into integration in A Grounding Breath and a Phrase.

Integration is also where we watch for anything that needs more care. If the journey stirred up more than two sessions can hold, your therapist will say so and help you find the right next step, whether that is continued work with one of our therapists, a referral, or coordination with a therapist you already see.

Who holds your integration

The Same Therapist, From the First Session to the Last

Integration at Numia is led by licensed therapists in our clinical facilitator therapist model: therapists who also hold Colorado’s clinical facilitator license (NMCF), the tier the state reserves for clinicians licensed to diagnose and treat. Your therapist meets you in the fit call, prepares you, is present for every hour of your journey, and then helps you make sense of it. Alongside them, two of our team support the body and the imagination in the weeks that follow.

  • Carolina Correa, MFT-C, Founder and Clinical Director
  • Kathleen Zachary, MSW, LCSW, NMCF, Co-Owner and Director of Research
  • Katy Barrs, PsyD, LP, Clinical Therapist
  • Anne Metz, PhD, LPC, NMCF, Clinical Therapist
  • Claudia Barfoot, MA, LPC, NMCF, Clinical Therapist
  • Johanna Oppeck, LPCC, ATR, Therapist and Art Therapies Specialist, supporting integration through art therapy
  • Benjamin Hawes, DAcCHM, LAc, NMF, Co-Owner and Director of Wellness Practices, supporting preparation and integration with acupuncture

How integration unfolds at Numia

  1. The evening of your journey. Rest, a warm meal, and quiet. Keep the evening clear if you can, and write down whatever wants to be written before sleep.
  2. Session one, usually the day after. One hour with your therapist while the experience is fresh: a careful walk back through the day, what came up, how your body and heart are doing now, and the first threads of meaning.
  3. The two weeks between. The grounding breath and phrase, journaling, gentle movement, and time outdoors. Old patterns will show up; noticing them is part of the work.
  4. Session two, about two weeks later. One hour to look at what has held and what has slipped, and to turn insight into practice: the conversations to have, the habits to change, the boundaries to keep.
  5. Monthly integration circles. A gathering for Numia clients, open to you long after your protocol ends, because the work keeps unfolding.
  6. Continued support when you want it. Acupuncture with Benjamin to help the body settle, art therapy with Johanna, further sessions with your therapist, or coordination with a therapist you already see.

The Two Sessions, Side by Side

The two integration sessions do different jobs. The first catches the experience before it fades; the second tests it against real life. Here is what each one holds.

How to Choose Integration Support

Integration is the part of psilocybin therapy most often skipped, shortened, or handed off. These are the questions we would ask any provider in Colorado, and how we answer them ourselves.

  • Is the person a licensed therapist?Colorado’s general facilitator license does not require a clinical degree. Ask whether the person leading integration is licensed to diagnose and treat, and whether they hold the state’s clinical facilitator license. At Numia: integration is led by licensed therapists in our clinical facilitator therapist model. How the two licenses differ.
  • Were they in the room for the journey?Integration led by someone who prepared you and witnessed your journey starts from a different place than a first meeting. At Numia: the same therapist holds preparation, the journey, and both integration sessions.
  • How many sessions, and when?Ask whether integration is a single call or a process, and how soon after the journey it begins. At Numia: two one-hour sessions, the first usually the day after, the second about two weeks later, then monthly circles.
  • Is the body included?Much of what surfaces in a journey is stored in the body, and talking alone does not always reach it.At Numia: acupuncture with Benjamin Hawes and art therapy with Johanna Oppeck are available alongside the sessions.
  • What happens if something hard came up?Ask what the plan is if the journey stirred more than expected, and who you can reach between sessions. At Numia: your therapist evaluates how you are doing at each session, as Colorado’s rules require, and recommends further care or referrals when they are needed.
  • Is there a community afterward?Integration continues for months. Ask whether there is somewhere to keep going. At Numia: monthly integration circles for clients, long after the protocol ends.

Common Questions

What is psilocybin integration?

Integration is the therapy that follows a psilocybin journey. In the sessions you walk back through the experience with your therapist, make sense of what surfaced, notice what it stirred in the body, and decide what to do with it: the conversations to have, the habits to change, the practices to keep. The journey opens a door; integration is how you walk through it.

How soon after the journey does integration start?

Usually the next morning. The first session is held while the experience is still fresh, and the second about two weeks later, once daily life has had a chance to test what you learned. Your therapist can adjust the timing around travel.

What happens in an integration session?

A thorough review of the day, which Colorado’s rules require, and then the slower work of meaning. Your therapist asks how your body and heart are doing, listens for what wants attention, and helps you turn insight into practice. Some sessions are mostly talking; some include breath, drawing, or simply sitting with what is there.

Can integration sessions be done by telehealth?

The first session is in person, the day after your journey. The second can be by telehealth if you have traveled home, which many of our out-of-state clients do. The monthly circles are for Numia clients.

What if something difficult came up during my journey?

That is part of what integration is for. Your therapist was in the room and knows what surfaced. At each session they evaluate how you are doing, as the state’s rules require, and if more support would help they will recommend it, whether that is further sessions, acupuncture or art therapy with our team, a referral, or coordination with a therapist you already see.

How long does integration take?

The two sessions span about two weeks, and most people feel the work keep unfolding for months. That is why the monthly integration circles exist, and why you are welcome in them long after your protocol ends.

Does integration cost extra?

No. Both integration sessions are included in every Numia protocol: $3,800 for private sessions, $6,000 per couple, and group retreats from $4,000 per person. Colorado’s rules bar a separate fee for the first integration session; at Numia there is no separate fee for the second either. Acupuncture and art therapy beyond the protocol are arranged directly with Benjamin and Johanna.
